Confinement and simulation of dimeron ensembles in pure Yang-Mills theory

Confinement of quarks is one of the most striking phenomena of the standard model, which has its origin in quantum chromodynamics.  The aim of this work is to study confinement in SU(2) Yang-Mills theory numerically via localised solutions of the classical equations of motion, so-called pseudoparticles.  In particular, this is done by restricting the path integral to singular dimerons, which represent generalizations of the more familiar instanton and meron solutions.
