Radiative corrections and mass singularities
Bastian Kubis (Bonn)
In the calculation of radiative corrections for processes involving very light particles (electrons, say), large logarithms (so-called Sudakov logarithms) occur that diverge in the limit of the light particle mass going to zero. I discuss the circumstances in which such enhanced terms can survive in the total correction factor, with phase space restrictions on the real-photon emission. This will be demonstrated with the help of the sample decay K → π e+ e-.
