Sebastian König: Bound states in a box
When a bound state is put in a finite volume, its mass (energy) is
shifted compared to the infinite-volume solution. In the eighties,
Lüscher derived an explicit formula for the case of S-wave bound states
periodic cubic boxes. In this talk, I will discuss the extension of the
formalism to bound states with higher orbital angular momentum.
Moreover, I will show how the boundary conditions are changed when one
considers bound states in moving frames and how this leads to
topological correction factors in the scattering of composite particles.
The results have applications to lattice calculations for various kinds
of systems.
