Kaonic atoms and nuclei: solved puzzles, open questions and challenges

J. Marton

The antikaon interaction on nucleons and nuclei at low energies is neither simple nor well understood. Our understanding is limited due to the lack of precision data to be extracted from hadronic atom spectroscopy and experimental information on the possible formation of kaonic nuclear systems bound by the strong force. In the past several puzzles showed up. Some clarification could be obtained with new precision experiments. This talk will give an overview of the present status of experiments and will give an outlook to future perspectives to answer open questions.
