Strange baryon spectroscopy in Hall D at JLab

Peter Hurck (geb. Pauli) / University of Glasgow

Hall D at Thomas Jefferson National Accelerator Facility (JLab) in Virginia, USA, is currently home to the GlueX experiment. Originally proposed to study exotic hybrid mesons, its large data set offers a fantastic opportunity to also study the baryon spectrum in photoproduction. GlueX uses a linearly polarised photon beam incident on liquid hydrogen target and is equipped with detector systems to study a wide range of final states. In this presentation we will review recent results with a focus on strange baryons. We will
also give a short outlook towards future measurements performed with a KLong beam at the proposed KLong facility in Hall D.
