Towards a better understanding of the slope parameter in η → 3π0
Sebastian Schneider (Bonn)
Due to its isospin breaking nature, the η → 3π decay is a very sensitive tool for the extraction of the quark mass double ratio Q-2. However, for a precise determination of the ratio a detailed description of the Dalitz plot is essential. In that respect, the slope parameter of the neutral decay channel causes some concern, since the ChPT prediction misses the experimental value quite substantially. It turns out that final-state interactions among the decay products play an integral part in the determination of higher order parameters, deeming the process ideally suited for an analysis with the modified non-relativistic framework. I will describe the shortcomings of the ChPT calculation and give the current state of our analysis.
