A new generation of chiral nuclear forces

I will introduce a new generation of nucleon-nucleon potentials derived in chiral effective field theory and discuss in detail the convergence of the chiral expansion for various observables. In addition, a new approach for estimating the theoretical uncertainty will be presented and demonstrated to yield reliable results in nucleon-nucleon scattering. I will further briefly address the role of the three-nucleon force and summarize the current status of our work along this line.
