Charming Physics

U.-G. Meißner (Bonn, Jülich)

There has been renewed interest in hadron spectroscopy due to the cornucopia of unexpected findings in systems including charm quarks. I discuss the possible formation of hadronic molecules in the multi-GeV mass range and argue how the nature of such states can be investigated in experiments or lattice simulations. I also show how charmonium transitions can be used to test fundamental light quark symmetries like isospin or flavor SU(3).
