Analytic properties of the scattering amplitude

To allow for a controlled extraction of baryon resonance properties, a unified description of various reaction channels is compulsory.  Then, together with the determination of the analytic structure of the scattering amplitude, a precise extraction of resonance parameters such as pole positions and residues becomes possible.  In this talk I discuss different methods for the analytic continuation and the analytic structure of the scattering amplitude in meson-baryon scattering.
